My son is on Geodon to treat his bipolar and ive been finding pills missing. I think he’s either taking them or selling them. So i was wondering what the affects are if abused.

What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical treatment if you think you have used too much of this medicine. Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, problems with speech, dizziness, feeling light-headed, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeat, or restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck.

    Everything has side effects! Its very important that you monitor him taking the pills for his own health or for the health of others. If he is selling them he can be charged with prescription drug selling. And more importantly endagering the life of someone else. I suggest you have a serious talk with him and also not let him take his medication on his own. Try to formulate some type of routine. Prescription medication SHOULD BE KEPT MY PARENTS not by children. BE SAFE.

    Geodon side effects
    Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Geodon and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
    dizziness, feeling light-headed, fainting, fast or pounding heartbeat;

    fever, stiff muscles, confusion, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats;

    tremor (uncontrolled shaking), restless muscle movements in your eyes, tongue, jaw, or neck;

    agitation, hostility, confusion;

    increased thirst or urination, weakness, extreme hunger; or

    penis erection that is painful or lasts 4 hours or longer.

    Less serious side effects may include:

    mild skin rash;

    anxiety, headache, depressed mood;

    dizziness, drowsiness;

    muscle pain or twitching;

    nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite;

    runny or stuffy nose, cough, sore throat; or

    weight gain.

    This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect.
