Drug Addiction Help Line: The Only Place to Truly Find Drug Addiction Help

Why is it that whenever someone is looking for drug addiction help, they immediately turn to outside sources in their cries for help, the rehab centers, the church, their families are the normal first ports of call, but in the majority of cases statistically, this help is then futile as the majority of drug users end up relapsing.

If this is the situation which you are experiencing either as an addict or a family member or loved one of an addict, then please allow me as a recovering junkie to add my 2 cents worth. The only time that any type of drug addiction help is going to work is when the addict has truly committed to actually wanting and needing the help.

I am not talking about the cries for drug addiction help you will hear when they do not have money for their next fix, or the half hearted attempts at recovery which happen every day and inevitably end up in a relapse and often more serious abuse than before.

Junkies are amazing creatures, they will try every trick under the sun in order to get what they want from you, whether it is money, transport, shelter or whatever it is they need and they will often do this under the guise of looking for drug addiction help, pity and even sympathy.

So how do you know when someone really is ready to begin accepting drug addiction help? Well, unfortunately it is often very difficult to tell the lies from the truth when it comes to addiction, but normally an addict will only truly begin to look for real help once they have hit the end of the line and have no other options other than death.

I know this was very much the case with myself and it was that decision which I needed to make which brought me to where I am today, 10 years clean of intravenous heroin addiction, I have a loving family and would not trade them for the world, but as a junkie I would have traded them in an instant for another fix! Sad but very true!

So in order to truly offer drug addiction help, you need to let the addict hit the lowest of the low before you can try to help them up, this is all which will help them to focus on their own recovery and will allow the drug addiction help to begin to come from within themselves instead of trying to smooth the way.

Sometimes we need to lose everything in order to truly make sense of and understand what it is which we had. It is never an easy ride, but unfortunately if you are looking to truly be able to give drug addiction help, it is often the only route available.
