Is This Poem Good or Bad?

Question by sparklenessluv13: Is this poem good or bad?
I wrote it about my dads drug addiction and I want to publish it in my schools newspaper but I don’t know if I should

Daddy ain’t coming home.
He whispers for help into the phone,
He’s fallen, broken, stoned,
Laying in the blood and cold.

Mommas yelling, telling me to go away, and I’d much rather leave than stay,
But I’m trapped in this prison cell, knowing the last of my hope fell.
My air is heavy, but my head is light,
Screams loud, silence louder,
I hold on, hold on tight.

Daddy’s broken, momma’s full of hate,
They don’t understand that it ‘s too late, it’s always been too late.
I cry out but no one hears the sound,
I’m surrounded, yet alone, and silence is somehow loud.
The tears burn, but I am already numb,
I must end the war they have begun.

The harmony swirls, and I become confused.
Momma’s hate will never lose.

The air goes quiet, I am alone.

I realize daddy ain’t ever coming home.

I like it a lot! But I don’t think it’s appropriate for your school newspaper. It is very dark and the school may not allow it because it is about drug addiction, but then again it speaks of why you should avoid drugs… It should definitely be published though. Speak to the newspaper editor about it first and ask them to be honest with you. But seriously, get this published.

What do you think? Answer below!
