True, people do tend to respond more to others who are like themselves. However, the speaker is NIDA’s Director, a world renowned neuroscientist and an expert in drug abuse research. So, she could bring the conversation to a whole? other level. Thanks for the kind words!
Great video, it would of been more trustworthy to that population if a person from that ethnic group, people of color could of presented this information.? Great information, great presentor, like the comments, the replies from NIDANIH. People addicted want to make it ok to keep using, excuses, I know I was addicted.
Please..Give up, nobody has ever died from smoking marijuana, and I watched Dr? Oz.. I know kinda lame but oh well.. And had some top notch people talking about how, saying there is no proof that smoking this would effect your lungs/give lung cancer. in FACT they said it ACTUALLY helped the lungs, kept it from dangerous things. Think you should remove marijuana outta your “discussions” and just stay with the more HARDCORE. Btw, teen drug abuse lowered in California. LoL
To your other two points: some medications can have harmful side effects, especially those for cancer and pain. Also, NIDA supports scientific research—we do not set policy or make laws, which are not always based on what the? science says.
The Drug Abuse Warning Network (DAWN) provides a way to monitor drug-related hospital emergency? department (ED) visits. A visit to the emergency room could be for any number of reasons — not just violence. Whatever the reason, the number of ED visits by those who used marijuana has increased 64% since 2004.
You’re looking up things can make false lies, just to be used in classes like this. People who calm to have some kind of kind effect, either has something wrong with THEM or some friend laced that bud. Marijuana it self? cannot harm you, people use it for cancer, for other pain.. I don’t see how you believe it can lead to more violent behaviors. Don’t think states that allow’ed medical use of it to be used by the public people..
In 2010, mj was a contributing factor in over 460,000 ED visits in the U.S., with about 12 percent (~56,000 kids) between the ages of 12 and 17. Synthetic marijuana was? involved in over 11,400 ED visits, with close to 3,800 or about 33 percent involving 12 to 17-year-olds.

I really disagree on what you just said, I know this comment is 2 YEARS OLD. Of course, but no, if you’re smoking just MARIJUANA it won’t affect you, the only times when it will EFFECT YOU, is when you lace it with someone, like PCP? or some other type of drug that will actually mess you UP. Weed should be LEGAL, you will make jobs with this, people who harvest, weed will not EFFECT YOU
Not quite sure what you mean by your comment. As explained in? the video, this was NIDA’s Director responding to real questions by real students.
FAKE!?
not one? in 2001 there were 6 cases. in 2004 there were 2.
and the fact isn’t just that it could kill a person, but it messes with a persons brain.? my cousin died in an accident. the man who killed her had only been smoking marijuana and he claimed that was why he didn’t see her.
so as far as your “take that to the bank” comment, id like to cash in on that
That was most likely for having a bad trip or underestimating the effects. It’s scary the first time, but after it’s fine. None of those kids died, I? guarantee it.
I love smoking cannabis, and taking MDMA, and I’m 16. Are you? gonna tell me that I’m stupid? Because I’m like a nerd in school!
Not one thus? far! From direct use.
But think of all the people that have died of legal drug overdose. For god’s sake, caffeine has a better chance of killing you. If what you are worried about is car accidents, put a? surgeon general’s warning on the package like tobacco and put “Use responsively” on the package like alcohol.
Marijuana intoxication alters your very consciousness. This is known. Now what kind of government tells you what to? do with YOUR consciousness?
“NIDA has a government granted monopoly on the production of medical marijuana for research purposes.”
THIS is the reason research on weed is so slow. THIS is the reason people similar to the president have their futures ruined for some petty crime. THIS is the reason some people are forced to take dangerous prescription drugs for illnesses.
Just know, the War on Drugs? was/is a failure, and YOU are losing. It’s just a matter of time.
